Hello, I’m Claude Batrouni!
Currently pursuing my Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at Fordham University, I am committed to sharing my love and passion for technology wherever I can. Software engineering has enabled me to be creative and bridge my hobby and future career. After self-teaching myself multiple programming languages, such as Java, C#, and SQL, I have created several projects out of pure amusement, something I wish to carry on to future job roles.

My interests and hobbies!
-
Computers and other technologies
First and foremost, I love technology. Whether that includes software development or building computers like legos, there’s always something for me to obsess over. When I was 11, I did not intend to explore it beyond video games when building my first computer. However, here I am, almost four years into a Computer Science degree, pursuing it as my career. My main focuses are app development (more front-end) and database management.

Radio Music
Music has always been at the forefront of my consciousness. It was there from when I was young, and it continues to be with me as I grow. I am passionate about sharing and discussing music. To keep this passion alive, I became a radio show host at Fordham University’s Wavelengths. Wavelengths is Fordham’s first student-run radio show. As a part of our show, my co-host and I share music we want everyone to hear and learn about.

Coffee
I feel like this was inevitable being a Computer Science major in college. Coffee has become one of my most recent hobbies in the last two years—everything from the brewing process to the smell and the taste. To me, coffee is not just a watered-down drink; instead, it is an art and a delight that doubles as a caffeine boost.

Re-Recipe!
How might we improve the online recipe and cooking platform experience for users with dietary restrictions so that they can easily discover, customize, and save tailored recipes, promoting healthier eating habits and inclusivity?
Designed in Figma, “Re-Recipe!” is a project that would assist in cooking for those with dietary restrictions.
-
“Re-Recipe!” seeks to challenge the limited availability and customization of online recipes and cooking platforms for users with dietary restrictions. This challenge seeks to promote inclusivity, healthier eating habits, and a more diverse range of options for individuals with unique dietary needs, such as allergies, intolerances, or lifestyle choices.
-
Finally, the goal of this platform is to help users memorize recipes and eventually become less reliant on the platform demonstrating a commitment to promoting self-sufficiency and independence among people with dietary restrictions. This approach fosters a sense of agency and confidence in users, enabling them to navigate their dietary needs with ease and adapt recipes to their preferences without relying on external resources.
-
Using a Co-Design process, I interviewed several people with dietary restrictions. Through a rigorous process of mapping ideas in FigJam, we were able to create a website that met everyone’s needs.
Have it your way with Re-Recipe!
“Re-Recipe!” allows users to create search recipes that are tailored to exactly what they want! Just add the restriction tags to your profile and “Re-Recipe!” will find the recipes for you. Still not enough? Try the in-depth search filter that precisely finds what you want!
Remix recipes!
“Re-Recipe!” allows users to remix, or “Re-Recipe,” other recipes and share them in a community. By providing a platform for learning, sharing, and remixing recipes, this platform promotes a shift in values and practices that prioritize the importance of a healthy diet, inclusivity in the culinary world, and self-sufficiency among people with dietary restrictions. This innovative approach has the potential to improve public health outcomes, foster a sense of community, and empower individuals with dietary restrictions to confidently navigate their culinary needs.
